Chatham MFA in Creative Writing:
In addition to his creative writing, David is associate professor of English and writing coordinator at Chatham University in Pittsburgh. There, he teaches MFA-level courses in pedagogy and literature and mentors teaching fellows and other graduate instructors. He is also nonfiction editor of the program’s The Fourth River literary journal.
Since he had never studied creative writing formally, in 2024 David used his faculty tuition benefits to enroll as a student in the MFA program. He loves the program’s focus on nature- and place-based writing, as well as its inclusive, nurturing sense of community.
